Aloha from Dr. Gladstone: I have written the book "Bad Jelly" because this analogy really has helped my patients overcome low self-esteem. The illustration to explain my cure is: Everyone is born as an "empty jelly donut". In childhood, based on our experiences, "good or bad jelly gets injected into you involuntarily". Bad jelly feels like a dark cloud hovering overhead. It takes over your thoughts, especially when there is increased stress in your life. Low self- esteem is based on you believing your bad jelly perception of yourself.
In my book:
Everything you will read is the culmination of 20 years as a psychiatrist treating low self-esteem in therapy with most patients. I have written the book "Bad Jelly" because this analogy really helps my patients overcome low self-esteem. After they understand bad jelly, they get it, and apply my techniques in their daily lives, their mind finally becomes much clearer and free, like a weight has been lifted off.
